Poor old Henry Ford has been the brunt of many jokes over the years, but we all know he was an innovator.  He also contributed to the fire protection industry in a way not unlike the discovery of penicillin - completely by accident.  His desire to create continuous production lines meant that the building containing these production lines had to be a single large compartment.  When his factory burnt to the ground, fire compartmentation was said to be born. Today, most Building Codes, including the Australian Building Code require maximum fire compartment sizes. Not many would dispute this requirement.  Fires around the world show how vicious fire spread can be even when the building has satisfactorily designed and installed sprinklers, passive fire protection systems and fire rated glazing on their windows.

Modern pressures such as staff retention, green building design, natural light and natural ventilation severely conflict with traditional fire compartmentation and life safety requirements.  That’s where we can help.   All of our systems are specifically designed to solve modern building issues. Our range of products, including our fire windows, fire shutters and fire curtains, not only meet and exceed the minimum fire and smoke testing requirements but have been subjected to many other rigorous tests to address interaction with other systems and uncertainties within the construction process.  This allows us to assist in the design process to provide a level of confidence in the end result that no other company can provide. Combine this with our installation experience and our maintenance services and it is not difficult to see how our clients all benefit from seamless integration of our systems into the modern building. We call it ‘Full Life Cycle Service’.
